E‑Verification Time Limit Reduced to 15 Days
The CBDT has reduced the time for e‑verifying ITRs from 30 days to 15 days to speed up return processing.
Affected taxpayers
All filers
Starting 1 September 2025, all ITRs must be e‑verified within 15 days of filing (down from 30 days).
If verification is not done within this period, the return will be treated as not filed, and the taxpayer will have to refile.
Taxpayers using physical verification (ITR‑V) must ensure it reaches CPC Bengaluru within the reduced timeline.
You can verify using Aadhaar OTP, net banking, or Demat account instantly – so use digital methods to avoid delays.
